1. So Jutta, firstly could you tell us a bit about yourself, and where your passion for jewellery started?

Hi Ultimate Jewellery Lust List. Many thanks for inviting me to an interview for your blog.

I am the owner and all round taskmaster at Little 15 Jewellery, an independently owned and run jewellery boutique in the City of London.

We sell multi award winning British Designers Shaun Leane, Alex Monroe and Monica Vinader as well as collections from young up-and-coming talent such as Eleanor Ford, Kimberley Selwood, Jacey Withers and Tina Lilienthal.

As for myself, I was born and raised in Germany but my love for music, fashion and a fascination with the English language drew me to the capital of cool, London Town. Planning to stay for only a year I am still here after nearly 17 years!

My interest in jewellery has grown out of a passion for fashion. Now I find my personal tastes for jewellery evolving all the time. I sometimes even surprise myself when I fall in love with a particular piece which years ago I would probably have dismissed. My current most coveted item is the Cherry Blossom Pearl Bud Ring by the very talented Mr Shaun Leane.

2. How did the idea for Little 15 emerge?

Little 15 was born out of the idea of bringing unique designer jewellery to the more corporate world of the City of London.

London is crammed full of amazing boutiques with cutting edge products and store design. The City is a huge exception to this and we wanted to proof that it is possible to be the odd one out and that City workers are stylish and fun people too.

3. What is the biggest success of Little 15?

A huge milestone was launching our new and much improved website in October last year and our most proud moment so far was being named number 8 in the Retail Jeweller Magazine ‘Most Inspiring Independents’ List.

4. Which celebrity's jewellery do you notice most?

I am forever checking people’s jewellery, be it on TV, Film, magazines or on the bus and tube... I am not really a big celebrity follower but I love the long gold pencil pendent worn by Christina Hendricks as Joan Holloway in the television series Mad Men – very elegant.

5. Of all the designers you could stock, apart from the brilliant array you currently have, who else would you most like to stock and why? (It could even be a jewellery designer who has now passed away, even someone from Tudor times say!)

Oh, thanks for the kind words...'brilliant array' - like it!

I have already ticked my ‘most wanted’ of the list earlier this year when I finally got the go ahead from the lovely Shaun Leane and started stocking his silver collections. In only a few months his jewellery is now our bestselling range in-store. Shaun has deservedly won Jewellery Designer of the Year for the second year in a row and for the fourth time in his career - it seems he is simply untouchable at the moment.

Otherwise I would love to stock some more avant-garde and creative one off pieces as well as high end fine jewellery. I discovered Lauren Adriana at last year’s IJL and fell in love with her designs. 6. What is your favourite piece of jewellery that you own and why?

My Tina Lilienthal Red Cherry Necklace which I've owned for years, way before Little 15 ever even entered my mind. I wear all the time and still love it as much as on the first day. My most recent purchase was the Luna big statement ring by La Diosa Luna in gold vermeil and black onyx.

7. What do you love most about your job?

Buying all the jewellery and meeting new designers but I get such a buzz from great customer feedback and when a client returns time and time again.

I have to thank facebook for suggesting I "like" this shop. I clicked on the link, because it said 'jewellery'. But it also has some very cute and affordable dresses. Not sure what the postage to the U.K. is like though. Anyway I was browsing away and found this bike necklace, bit like the one Alex Monroe auctioned off for charity, but way more affordable at only $16.99 which converts to £10.98. I reckon Topshop may be on this trend of bike necklaces very soon... keep your eyes peeled...

Also, thought a bike necklace would be good as Boris's bikes now seem to be swarming London. So handy with a place to put your bag and places to park everywhere. Boris has been better for London than expected. So well done Ruche and well done Boris!

Kara Ross never ceases to make fantastic pieces of jewellery. Every magazine page I turn there's another of her pieces. There's a reason for it though, because her pieces are not very similar to each piece she does, or to anyone else's. This gold cuff could have been like any other gold cuff, but add the moonstones to it and you get a unique piece of jewellery which frankly no-one else will have (within a mile or so of you!).

Founded by Jewellery Designer Wendy Pickard, The Branch's jewellery is all made from wood, semi-precious stones gold and diamonds. It seems very important to The Branch to keep their jewellery as natural as possible, and there is no varnish on the pieces, they only use beeswax to condition it. Using wood, also means no two pieces of jewellery are ever the same.

I first started being interested in wood carving when my Mum took me to a farm shop fair out in the countryside somewhere, she was fascinated by the way the wood was carved, and how could you tell how old a piece of wood was. It really got me inspired and me and my sister bought my Granddad a small ink pot made from willow tree. He even then made my Mum a table from a Yew tree! Wood is a great source for making jewellery. The Branch seems quite affordable and incredibly sleek.

Nicole Richie, now she's not someone I would idolise, but she does have a fabulous jewellery range! I really don't want to admit it, it feels like admitting you like Paris Hilton perfume! This necklace caught my eye when I was having a browse around asos.com, and it really stood out. I'm loving long necklaces at the moment, they really glam up a boring outfit, or in my case, office wear! I love the length, colours and style of this necklace and at £73 for a designer necklace, I'm sure to start counting the pennies!

So this is not the newest of Wendy Mink's collection, (check out her blog for her latest stuff), but the Lust List is all about choosing the most outstanding pieces from the designer's various collections.

I particularly like Wendy Mink's style, she gives little away about herself on her 'About' section on her website. The jewellery is more about the simplicity of the stones combined with neat little finishing touches. For instance this bracelet is all about the agate but it wouldn't be as beautiful without the little gold charm on it and the clasp detailing. It's all about the finishing touches, and Wendy Mink demonstrates this perfectly.

Not surprising really looking at the jewellery he produces, very high end jewels like Garrad. I found on his website a few mood boards he makes up for inspiration. I particularly liked this one:

1. What is a typical day in the life of Nan Fusco, the jewellery designer?

Right now I'm wearing many hats, which is necessary when starting out... The convertible jewelry line was launched only 7 months ago, so I'm designing, producing, doing all my own PR, managing my website, photography and taking care of all social media. My background in graphic design makes them fairly easy but time consuming tasks, and there definitely will come a time, as the brand becomes more well known, that I will need to outsource and delegate. Honestly, all I think about jewelry 24/7... I have so many ideas and not enough hours in the day!

2. How would you describe the style of Nan Fusco jewellery?

Creative, carefree, versatile, and all around fabulous! It's for the woman who is comfortable experimenting and breaking all the rules of accessorizing. These are major statement pieces for the confident, fashion forward and free spirited woman who wants more than a piece of fashion jewelry... they want a quality piece of art that can change to match their mood -- or their ensemble. At the same time, they are extremely feminine... and the juxtaposition of rugged and earthy stones combined with fringy, mixed chains puts a very hip edgy spin on them.

3. What is your favourite piece of jewellery that you own?

My wedding band. It symbolizes the heart and soul of my life, my husband and children. It's an ever-present visual reminder of how incredibly blessed I am and what is truly important in life.

4. If you could own any piece of jewellery, what would it be?

I think I already own it! I am drawn to jewelry that is unusual, clever, creative and imaginative...I want something that no one else has, which is what inspired me to make jewelry in the first place. When I began to work with high karat gold and created my signature Nan Fusco Loop Necklace with a killer south sea pearl, a tassel of fancy green sapphires and a single cabochon ruby, that was the winner for me and the best selling piece at the Neiman Marcus trunk shows. Every time I wear it, tons of people stop me and ask where I got it.

5. What is the best-selling piece in your collection?

It's a twist on a classic--with an unexpected twist-- From the convertible jewelry collection, my pearl pulley necklace is made with superior grade keshi pears and a melange of gunmetal chains. It has a unique pulley system that takes the necklace from a long multi stranded statement piece to a choker/lariat with just one pull. You can turn it upside down for a very cool asymmetric long piece or loop it for a completely different lariat look. There are several variations of the Pulley but the Pearls are a huge hit and layer extremely well with other pieces.

6. What piece of jewellery do you wear everyday, if any?

Since I actually create the jewelry, I love to change it up every day and just pick from my inventory. When I complete a new convertible design I always take it out for a 'test drive'... If more than 6 people stop me in the span of one hour, I know it's a winner and the production wheels start turning.

8. If you could design a piece for any celebrity, who would it be and why?

Oooh, that's a tough one... suffice it to say that to see your work on any A-Lister is a jewelry designer's dream come true, but I guess I'd have to go with Julia Roberts... she is a classic beauty, free spirit, confident and her style is so eclectic... I just know she could rock a Nan Fusco piece like nobody's business!

9. Where does the inspiration for your pieces come from?

My background is in graphic design, so color, scale and composition come naturally to me, but when it comes right down to it, it's color that absolutely thrills and inspires me. My favorite thing to do is go see my gem vendors and when I spot something unusual, it truly excites me and I envision the piece in my head almost instantly. I also love the challenge of creating convertible pieces. I can make a traditional necklace any day, but I want more than that. I want a piece with multiple wearing possibilities. That's what my clients want and expect from the Nan Fusco line.

Perhaps becoming more obvious why the blog is a 'lust list', not a 'shopping list'! It's a good way to feed my passion for spending without spending!!! Anyway yes, Monica Vinader uses beautiful stones which are always complimented with gold. Her designs are always incredibly pleasing to the eye, and would suit anyone, young or old. This hammered gold ring almost looks like a family heirloom, now for £92 that would be a bargain...

Butler & Wilson: Crystal Multi Flower and Pearl Drop Brooch

I kind of knew the name Butler and Wilson, but thought, for some reason, that it was as expensive as Van Cleef and Arpels! I can assure you it's definitely not! This brooch is £58, so yes, no where near the thousands they charge! I love this brooch. That word brooch, I always think it's spelt wrong, I want to spell it broach! Grr... Anyway yes, the colours on this are kind of vintage colours, and I just think it would look really classy on a black blazer. Angie Gooderham: Black cuff with turquoise gem in gold surround

Large stones on cuffs are all the rage at the moment. However I mostly see rough stones set on gold cuffs, which are beautiful, but slowly becoming unoriginal. Angie Gooderham has however taken a very unique stance on this trend. Instead of gold, even better, a black cuff, with a sumptuous turquoise stone set in a gold casing on top. This cuff oozes style, and I think would make Miss Carrie Bradshaw, in all her jewellery clopper, melt. A real treat. AND it doesn't break the bank!

The cuff has been featured in Marie Claire, and has various other pieces to go with it, such as a necklaces and bangles.

I always like to look on the profiles of my new followers on facebook for the blog, as quite a few are designers. I found Maura Nicholson, and looked up her website. I was delighted to find some stunning and interesting jewellery. The silhouette flowers are somewhat of a trademark for her jewellery, something distinctive about it, something which one would now recognise if they saw on someone. Very clever idea. It's like having her name written on it, without actually spelling it out, like most of the designers have to do these days. I love the blue Peruvian opals on this piece, it really makes it jump out. I really think this necklace would go well with the new denim jumpsuits which are coming into trend this A/W. Good work Maura!

Berlin Report: Jewellery Designers aus Berlin!

Just had a lovely holiday in Berlin, and couldn't help but check up on their jewellery stores! The best place has to be Hackesche Hofe, it's a few courtyards, where there are many little designer boutiques. I found a fair few jewellery designers based here! Just outside the courtyards is Takadu, a shop which sells jewellery, but focuses on selling beads and things to make your own jewellery with. I took a sly photo of the window (see above) and of the front of the shop. It's like an aladdin's cave in there. So much choice!

Next up I found this place, Pyramonte (http://www.pyramonte.de/) which sells acrylic jewellery. Some of it looked very sophisticated, I didn't realise you could get this effect with acrylic, other pieces were slightly wackier, but very unique, something I haven't seen much of.

Another place I found was this place. Schmuckwerk. (http://www.schmuckwerk.de/index02.swf) All the jewellery here was hand-made in this shop, you went in and saw the flame of the soldering pipe, and the woman making it. It was expensive stuff, but the real thing!

Finally, I found Sergio Engel jewellery, I fell in love with a ring there and bought it. It's very affordable jewellery, and very stylish. I even saw they sold a ring very similar to one that MADE jewellery sell. Nan Fusco: Raw Green Diamonds with Teardrop South Sea Pearl, Natural Ruby

First of all, yey Lo Bosworth, my absolute favourite celeb is wearing Nan Fusco, the first reason for me to lurve her jewellery range! Lo has such elegant style and never seems to argue, what an excellent role model from the Hills, who would have thought it?!

Second reason to love Nan Fusco's range is that it is CONVERTIBLE! That's right, for example, this piece can be worn in three different ways, so essentially divide the price by 3 and you have three stylish affordable necklaces! I love the colours on this necklace, green and gold, as I've said before equals a winning combination, throw in the rubies and you've got my vote! I love the simplicity of this necklace as well, it's quite a mature piece, but hey, don't we all want to look more mature and successful than we actually are! Well done Nan Fusco for designing a delight to the eye.

Paula Mendoza is Colombian born and very passionate about finding exciting jewels from across the globe to make her jewellery unique. It has certainly worked. I love this crystal ring, the rugged style of it makes it so on trend, and natural. It almost looks like a piece of frozen ice. Her jewellery is very innovative.

On her website she writes that her great passion is the way that an accessory can change the way fashion is experienced. I like this idea, I do find an outfit very bland with no accessories, especially jewellery. I have to say the more I look the more I notice how many people wear jewellery everyday and there are some especially interesting pieces out there. More people than I realise are "into" jewellery...

Gemma Redux: Alexa Necklace

Gemma Redux is a brand that is based in the States, but are looking to start selling in the UK! Already hugely successful, with celeb fans such as Blake Lively and Cameron Diaz, Gemma Redux creates beautiful original pieces that have a tough, industrial feel to them, but at the same time, stunning.

I was having a hard time managing to get a picture off the website, so I asked the Gemma Redux team and they kindly sent me this one, the Alexa Necklace. Damn good choice I say. It would go with any outfit, any where, any time, worth the money! Talking of money, they still have a sample sale on I think... until 11pm UK time and 6pm US time. Go go go! Definitely a brand to watch out for when they hit the UK with force!

Thomas Sabo: Alternative Charm Bracelet

This is Thomas Sabo and Jesus, Madonna's ex?-boyfriend (that sounds weird). Seen here attending Thomas Sabo's Autum/Winter launch party. Looking like an old rocker you can see where the inspiration comes from for many of his pieces! But I decided I wanted to see if it was possible to create a really girly piece out of the rocker's collection. This is what I created on the on-line shop:

A pale pink charm bracelet, with three charms, one of the eiffel tower (how romantic), one of a bow (how girly) and one of the tramp (from lady and the tramp). I kind of like it, but I have to say there is a line with Thomas Sabo stuff, between looking cool and trendy and looking sort of chavy, dare I say. I think it's probably best for Sabo to stick to what he knows, if buying the pieces I say stick to black, it's what he does best.

Feeling quite like the days of British colonialism, this elephant brooch is so detailed and shows such incredible craftsmanship that I daren't look up the price. Links of London vs. Manik Mercian for Dion Lee 2010

This is Links of London for Britain's Next Top Model.

So... very similar designs, Links of London taking their designs to dizzy new heights, and Jenny Manik Mercian including clusters of crystals into the design, which makes it very on trend for A/W 2010. Links of London have to be credit for being brave with the design, often Links is very contemporary, but will need to stick to quite safe options to please the masses of customers they sell to everyday. However Jenny Manik has a bit more freedom, designing for the catwalk, and Victoria's secret. I like them both, maybe angular pieces are a trend we are going to see a lot more of in jewellery design next season. Which one do you prefer?!

Shaun Leane has been working in jewellery for over 20 years and has some absolutely amazing works of art to his name, the cherry blossom collection is one. It is a very soft girly collection but also with sharp corners giving it a touch of severity and power. This is my favourite piece from the collection. Shaun Leane, a worthy winner.

I was on the train today and I saw this woman wearing a seahorse necklace, and I thought in a way wearing that is quite symbolic. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but those female seahorses do have it good, as the men have the babies. Nice. Anyway I was looking up ethical jewellery designers, after realising from Flo how important ethical jewellery is, and found Fifi Bijoux. The first thing on her website was this seahorse pendant, and I took that as a message that this has to go on the blog! It's very cute, and nice and lightweight for those hot summer days. 1. Hi Flo, thanks so much for agreeing to take part in this interview. Could you briefly describe what MADE is all about?

Founded in 2005 by maverick Italian fashionista, Cristina Cisilino, Made creates stunning designer accessories that are 100% fair-trade. Dramatically unique, Made’s gorgeous products are designed by influential designers as well as hot guest celebrities. They are then sourced and hand-crafted within disadvantaged communities across East Africa. In doing this Made is able to radically improve the lives of people living in impoverished areas. Following the principles of fair trade, Made trains local artisans in new skills, providing fair wages and support at every level. Via this 'trade not aid' ethos, made is helping to break the cycle of poverty and empower the people who make its products.

2. I hear there are new designs for MADE what is the cause this time?

I have designed a very simple friendship bracelet as a one off project to help raise money for my Kilimanjaro charity trek that is raising money for Made Africa, the charity that we set up to run in partnership with Made. Made Africa was established in 2008 as an independent charity working in partnership with Made and other NGO’s in Africa. The charity’s mission is to promote educational and training projects in Africa. The Made team are not only passionate about their fashion savvy and unique products, but are also dedicated to providing a secure and positive future for disadvantaged individuals living in Kibera, Nairobi. www.madeafrica.org

3. How do you go about deciding who will do the jewellery designing for MADE?

Designers for Made have to have integrity and passion but most importantly not only a talent for creating stunning and unique jewellery but also a talent for understanding the vision and ethos behind Made.

4. Do you enjoy your current role at MADE, and why?

I’ve been obsessed with jewellery ever since I was a child so I love my role at Made. I look after all their PR and Marketing and it’s wonderful to use my experience and contacts for such an exciting brand that is so on-trend and fashion led but also really making a difference to lives in Africa. Made is really setting a precedent in the world of fashion proving that ethical and fair-trade can be fashion saavy and totally gorgeous. The ethos behind the company and incredible work in Africa means I have the rare gift of feeling passionate about my job.

5. How did you first hear about MADE?

I first came across Made when I bought a Masaai beaded cuff from Topshop long before I worked for them, it was always the first jewellery stand I went to because the jewellery is so unique it really stands out.

6. Who is your favourite current jewellery designer?

I love Natalie Dissel’s ‘Rough Rocks’ collection – chunky and gorgeous statement pieces, they are divine. I am also a huge fan of Pippa Small and her incredible philanthropic work – Pippa’s Bolivian collection is exquisite.

7. What is your favourite piece of jewellery you own and why?

I have a few….Firstly a large turquoise and silver tusk pendent that I bought in a market in India, I wear it every day and love it to bits as it reminds me of travelling and the brightness of the turquoise always reminds me of the colours and sweet smells of India. Secondly I have an antique Tibetan ring that is made of red coral and silver, it is totally unique and I’ve never seen anything like it. Finally, the new White Chilli pepper necklace from Made, big and bold - it’s my staple this summer.

8. How would you describe the people who work for MADE?

Made is divided into the UK team and the Kenya team. The UK team is a small team who are all dedicated and passionate about what we do especially as we have all spent a lot of time in Kenya with our Kenyan colleagues so we know them well and understand completely the difference Made is making to their lives. Our Kenyan team range from apprentices to workshop managers – all are highly skilled and extremely dedicated and appreciate deeply the opportunity to learn new skills and earn a good living with benefits such as a travel and housing allowance and health care.

9. Finally, thank you for taking part, and if you had one guess at who you think might be the next big name in jewellery design who would it be?

Hattie Rickards – Having worked for Salonge Azagury-Patridge for the past 5 years in both the UK and New York, Hattie is now currently working on her first collection. Her inspiration comes from natural forms such as seeds and pods resulting in chic but edgy jewellery with an organic feel – stunning.

Roberto Cavalli, some may find his decadence over-whelming and slightly vulgar, but I love it, the over the top opulance is fantastic. A designer who has really been allowed to let loose with his designs. This ring almost looks as though some sort of gheko has wrapped it's legs around the amethyst stone. Despite being one of the cheaper and more common stones, the gold and Cavalli design makes it look much more expensive. He really is a designer, who despite his sleezy look, I do really respect, and his jewellery is just so scrummy! I really wish I knew who actually designed it...

Wow, net-a-porter have some amazing jewellery at the moment, I could hardly decide what to use for my next post. There will be some more from net-a-porter this week, for sure. This gold cuff is absolutely stunning, I had no idea you could make gold look so much like lace, to get the fine detailing. There's something almost Elizabethan (I) about it, regal and majestic yet with a (very) vintage look to it. Maybe even Gothic... Whichever way, it is a words-can't-describe cuff, a real treat for the eyes. With a whopping price tag of over a grand I think we all hope asos make a similar one!

I've seen Lucy Hutchings necklaces in various magazines and always thought the cage style was quite unique. I recently went to Liberty and saw one of her necklaces in the sale, reduced from £90 to £23, so I got it obviously, what a bargain. It wasn't this one, it's a more simple version, but still very glad I got it.

This necklace is part of Lucy Hutchings' Autumn/Winter collection, and what a beautiful piece it is. I love the ribbon tying the necklace together, and the three main colours of the piece. It is a necklace you can imagine wearing with a scruffy updo and a floaty dress. Gorgeous style and a designer who is one to watch, already very successful, for all the right reasons!

I found this ring whilst searching on the Retail Jeweller magazine's website. It mentioned the Company of Master Jewellers, which prompted me to search their website for jewellers in London (of which there are only 3), and find Peter Burrowes website. I have always like Lola Rose designs, but never completely taken to them, as I wasn't sure whether they were very cutting edge in design or not.

However, as I am thinking about designs for jewellery before I start my Jewellery Design course, I was surprised to see one of my ideas already made by Lola Rose! I'm not sure if the intentions are the same as mine, but it definitely looks like something I had in mind to create! I was thinking about having wallpaper designs on jewellery and this ring looks like Lola Rose has already done it... I love the fact that she has used Rose Gold, it very up and coming, and I think it looks more sophisticated than gold, even. I love the colour and the detailing on the pink, and it's just a gorgeous match of materials. Well done Lola Rose, I have now begun to take the line much more seriously.

Jennifer Fisher's jewellery has been seen on some of Hollywood's biggest stars of today, on Sex and the City, on Kristen Stewart, Lauren Conrad, to name a few! There is something quite raw about her talent, in her 'about me' photo she is seen laden with bangles and rings, she is obviously a woman obsessed with the stuff!

I was originally inspired by Melanie Lynn's rings when I saw them on liberty.com, they were in the sale and I am so tempted to get one, very similar to the design of this necklace.
The pieces are all hand made, and I think you can really tell, the design is very intricate, especially on the circular parts of the necklace. I really like this piece as it has a sense of decadence about it but in a more greek and roman decadence way, than today. It could be a daywear piece or nightwear. It's summery yet black, just a real far cry from the classic designs, and a refreshing change.

I very much like it indeed.

Oh my giddy aunt! Well, not quite sure why I linked this I doubt anyone who's going to be looking at blogs will be able to afford/ wear it without being mugged! But what a corker of a diamond! It's absolutely stunning. If they say diamonds are a girl's best friend, then this is definitely a girl's no.1 best friend forever!

The 'aquamarine' diamond with the white gold makes this ring look like something the Snow Queen in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe would wear, something one only thinks of in a fairy tale, but no girls this is real, but sadly for most, just a picture. It almost looks like a foxes mint! Delicious and stunning! Garrad, you really do have Lust after pieces and absolute craftmanship.

This ring is very, 'unique', as it is entitled. It almost looks like a piece of a volcano. Very rough around the edges but with a perfectly shaped pearl. The rough texture of the ring really shows off the beauty of the black pearl, and has a sort of treasure trove type style. I could really see this ring going with some high waisted trousers, vest top and some heels. It would look great on its own too. A really jagged but stunning piece of jewellery. I think Yves Saint Laurent should stop being known by their luggage, but by their rings, they really have some very original statement pieces. I found Choo Yilin's pieces by seeing who was exhibiting at the London Jewellery Week this year. This bangle is so different, using a piece of jade not just for detail but for the core part of the bangle. Very original. 24 carat gold plated and enamel on a sterling silver egg. Inspired by the legendary Faberge eggs. Originally comissioned to make a gold Easter egg for the Russian royal family back in the 1880s, the Faberge egg caught on amongst the upper classes and aristocracy and became a big hit. Today these eggs which either have other objects inside them or in some cases a small horse inside, are still sold in luxury retailers. Finally! I found it! Seen on Sarah Jessica Parker in all the pre-film press releases and candid pap shots, this is the necklace I have been lusting after! Parker wears it with a simple white dress, and what a way to show off this exquisite piece. I can't believe I haven't looked at Solange Azagury-Patridge's jewellery before! Every piece is just beautiful, definitely going to have to include in my next blog the rings which have sculpted hands underneath the gem to hold it in place. The detail is divine.

This piece is the most sumptuous rubix cube style piece of jewellery I have seen, that unlike the rubix cube doesn't take hours to work out (that you want it!).

Now I know this isn't a usual piece for the Ultimate Jewellery Lust List, but I am starting to like more vintage and Art Deco inspired styles, and I find this piece especially intriguing. I like the lines, and the almost waterfall like way the heart hangs from the gold chain. It's sheer elegance, that could be worn everyday to work. The chain is beautiful as well, it looks as though it would feel like soft gold on your neck, you know when you feel high quality gold, it almost feels soft. It just flows well, and I would say it is very sleek.

Susan Caplan exhibits her finds on asos.com, a website I don't normally look at for jewellery, but they do have some good quality pieces on there, just avoid the Juicy Couture! Susan Caplan is the seller, Atwood and Sawyer are the designers, however I can't seem to find much about them!

This piece is a pricey £1,299.99 but I love the bulkiness of it. The gold really sets off the green, and showcases this beautiful stone, in a raw sense.

Graeme McColm is a Scottish jewellery designer who has had much success with his Orro Contemporary Jewellery company, and has now moved to work in London under his own name. Much of his jewellery is very urban, clean lined and heavy. This piece is urban and contemporary yet maintains a sense of luxury and allure.

P.S. If you have the chance, go and see the Irving Penn exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, London. I went today, highly recommend it.

So today I went to find out about a Jewellery Design course at Holts Academy in Hatton Gardens, the home of jewellery. I am seriously considering doing an NVQ in Jewellery Manufacture, looks amazing, you get to learn stone setting and everything. Very exciting. Whilst there I found out about this place called the Platform gallery which, incidentally, Karen Morrison (previously featured jeweller on The Ultimate Jewellery Lust List) is part of.

After looking up the Platform gallery I found lots of amazing designers on there. This piece by Sarah Herriot particularly caught my eye. It is around £900, but amazing detailing. Walking along Hatton Gardens there is so much of the same type of jewellery, a few are very contemporary, but the rest very much just diamond rings and emerald necklaces. I love this piece as it really inspires me to make interesting jewellery and to treat it really as an art form.

This made to order piece is absolutely exquisite. From one idea it could look like a GCSE perspex test, but the thought that has gone into the colours and the way it sits on the neck makes it stand out as a designer piece. It is a large piece, which speaks for itself in an outfit. It's bright colours are following the trends of jewellery designers in dior and miu miu. I found the Gaudion Bowerbank shop whilst surfing around looking at the Coutts Jewellery week. It has some very innovative designers and definitely worth a look! P.S. So today the President of Poland died in a plane crash, so my condolences go out to his family and country. I thought I have not actually thought about Polish jewellery in particular before, but once you start looking there is some really modern interesting stuff out there. I found one of their most famous jewellery designers Marcin Zaremski who is reknown for his work with amber. I do love amber, but I always feel its for older people, as my Grandma always wears it. This bracelet is so simple yet stunning, I'm a firm believer that gold and silver do go together and you don't have to wear either or. I feel this would look good on with a simple gold chain and a black cotton dress and some heels. Very classic.

Les Nereides is a french jewellery store with a big following apparently. I had never heard of it before I stumbled upon its beautiful alice in wonderland window display which drew me inside. There is a big smell of incense when you walk in, but the jewellery is so cute. I found this necklace which you can get in the letters A or B (I presume you could ask for another letter). It's a nice alternative to the Carrie style necklace I think. The shop also has ballerina necklaces and french cafe scene jewellery. Definitely a nice little shop to get relatively affordable day wear jewellery in.

I've always liked Mawi jewellery but its always been way out of my price range. However, recently they have made some more affordable pieces, such as this locket. I love green and gold together, add a pearl on the back and my three favourite things to look for in a piece of jewellery. I am going back to what I set out to do in this blog, to bring jewellery designers to you rather than power houses like Links and Swarovski. They do have key pieces which should definitely be on this list, but originality seems to prevail in niche jewellery designers.

I love love love this stingray panelled bracelet, I love the colour combinations and the crystals around the edge. Its wooden as well, so its all low cost materials but not tacky. Very art deco. Fulton also has some amazing skyscraper earrings, I'm loving art deco at the moment, I do hope it makes a fashion comeback!

Recently at work I have been trying to find memorabilia for a book on the Titanic and have been reminded of that beautiful blue pendant seen in the film. At a wopping £1, 900 this had better be an heirloom piece! Consisting of peridot, green amethyst, citrines, and amethyst you wouldn't think this is worth that much however it is because it is set in 18carat gold. I would like to quote the website on this one, calling it a
'very wearable necklace' .......I'd say only in Sloane Square! Beautiful piece, one to lust after indeed!

It's not a specific jewellery designer, but I've started to really respect Beaverbrooks as a jewellery company as they train their staff up on JET 1 and 2 courses. This bracelet is very simple and classic but I like the mix of pearls and that its real gold and reasonably priced.

I know I know I said I would try not to do too much costume jewellery, but I can't help but love this piece, it captures Alice in Wonderland more than Stella's pieces do, sorry, they are too designed for the crazy world of Alice in Wonderland, it needs to be a bit more wacky! I love it more because its my name as well, and the Mad Hatter is probably my fav character. Now you may not beable to see very clearly but this 18ct gold plated ring has written around it 'wish upon a star' so cute! It's a very simple piece, which could be mistaken for a wedding band so I would definitely advise you to wear this on your middle finger. This gold plated necklace has movement to it and is almost like a charm necklace. Another orchid piece I know, but I love the big pink rose in the middle, pink and gold are so rich and luxurious together. Ever since seeing this piece in Grazia magazine a few weeks ago I have loved it. I fell in love with New York when I went there and was ill for a week strangely enough! What a piece to start The Ultimate Jewellery Lust List on! Affordable and Beautiful! The Bee necklace has exquisite detailing and is just a beautiful piece whether it be in gold or silver. Such a cute necklace which is definitely an everyday piece. I think the silver is better for paler skin tones, but silver tarnishes, I wonder how it would fair when it starts to tarnish.....It does have a lot of detailing. Hmm.....
